After a bit of advice on what springs to get for my gaz coilovers, I have 250lb on the front at the moment but I will only be running a 1.6 8v or a 1.6 16v, I was thinking of around 190lbs as it will only be a road car, does 190lbs sound right? Any ideas?

I don't think you will be a million miles with 190lbs. Most tarmac rally cars I now run around that mark. I think that was the works setting for the GSI's for uk Tarmac, a little higher for the smoother stuff on the continent. So unless your using the car exclusively for track work give it a go.

190lb is fine for the front. 250 a touch too stiff for road use.

imho/experience.... given the dire ARB characteristics the Nova has unless you spend a fortune fixing that I'd go with 300-400lb springs and wind the damping right down low to give a compliant ride but decent handling.

I ran 275lb springs on the front of my 1.6 8v and it was fine on the road with alloy topmounts and poly bushes, so I think you'd be fine with 250.
