Its been done before, but I'd advise a single pulley especially on standard engine mounts

I have a Mk1 with the original belt setup on standard mounts with no catching on the chassis leg.

Sorry about the bad quality picture lol it was from my old phone ages ago......
And i went to autoquip and ordered a 6PK865 thats 6 rib 865mm and is a tight fit, but perfect...
This used to scrape the chassis leg on left corners untill i fitted my solid mounts.
Most novas are different, some fit with plenty of room and some dont fit at all, thats why alot of people suggest using single v.
