I'd measure the shell width, hopefully 1mm hasn't worn away
i dont have the old shells. although trying to use the digital verniers at work the crank bearing surface was 22mm...ish. and 48.72mm dia...which is right as it was ground .25
It's the width of the journal so a grind shouldn't change it
Is it an early or late crank as Im sure the early crank is the narrower Bearing I'll have a check what width my new ones are when I'm home as I have new bearings ready to go on and am early crank
pretty sure its an early crank yes as thats what i was told when i bought it.
ok so ive just unwrapped my crank and measure it for you
mines is definitely an early crank

measure my bearings and they are only 19.3mm though
hmmm think ive been given the wrong bearings
my engine builder said these arent actually for a 20xe but thier labeled up as opel 1.7td he says they are fine though and they were pretty cheap to being labeled up as a 20xe
think a phonecall might be in order tomorrow
heres my bearings
