Whats the best way to repair a printed circuit on the back of some 6 dial nova clocks,
I have 3 sections that have broken away and need to be repaired.
I rang vauxhall and they just laughed at me once i mentioned printed circuit and nova.
Help or ideas appreciaated, a big bonus would be if someone has a set of 6 dial clocks kicking around to take a picture of the back of them so i can see what goes where, that would be a big help :thumb:

best way i found was to seek out a set of damaged clocks with a decent circuit on the back and use that, i never succesfully repaired any of mine
Bazil mibby be able to help with diagrams;)
He has helped me out loads of times.

I peeled back the plastic and soldered wires across the breaks :d

I've emailed them.... Nah only kidding lol
My old set were fettled by 16xe_chris, he traced the tracks on the back and then bridged a small piece of wire to another section to remake the connection work, spade connectors with holes in the middle were used on either end of the wire, then undo a couple of the nuts which connect the dials in place.
I don't have a picture of them to show you exactly what I mean and it does sound more complicated than it is lol
MK1_rich has them now though so should be able to get a picture I'd of thought.

i also have done this broke the circuit for the rev counter and engine man light, and im pretty sure i soldered a wire between the screws on the back to make the circuit very easy :thumb:

Clean back the coating on each track either side of the break using wire wool or fine emery to bring the copper up clean. Then solder some thin gauge wire across each break. Make sure you use a fine tip iron and don't heat too long as the backing will shrivel and burn. The track at the bottom is going to need a bit more work!
I was going to suggest one of these until I saw the picture http://www.maplin.co.uk/conductive-pen-33837 lol you're way past that!
Edit: Just realised what looked like a break across several tracks is one of the tracks waving in the air lol oh dear. Should be doable and what I said at the top still holds. Good luck tho.

All together i found 6 breaks in the circuit, i bought some gauge wire as suggested by phazer, cleaned up all of the copper tracks and soldered them together, although i couldnt work out why the illumination still wasnt working ( everything else was by this point ) so i i did was re-route the illumination to the ignition live on the wiring harness and it all light up.
Pretty simple to do but took alot of patience and a steady hand, cheers for the help chaps :)
