m4 astra 1.6 8v

my mate has a 1.6 8v mk4 astra and he said when its up to temp it runs like a bag of spanners as in no power

no EML light either

anyideas?

Egr valve is goosed.

coil pack, common problem did our lasses mk4 astra today.

but why would change in temp affect the coilpack?

can the EGR valve be blanked on these?

egr can be blanked.

The coil pack breaks down when warm.

EGR is only activated once the engine is upto temperature... if its running fine when cold then a bag of poo when warm then 9/10 times its EGR and the other time is coil pack imho.

Ok cheers where is it lOcated on the 1.6 8v I'll take it off give it a clean or blank it off

on the inlet? try unplugging it first

unplugging should trigger the MiL lol

you need to blank it and leave it plugged in. No idea where it lives.

Yeah that's what I meant lol it'll stay plugged in just not being used

take the cover off , its on the right had side easy to get too, 2 male torx bits T40 i think

cheers mate hes bringing te car tomorrow so ill take the valve off and make up a gasket to replace it if that dosnt work ill try another coilpack
