how hard can it be to change an engine size?

first time i sent the documents off when i changed to a 1.4 froma 1.0 they apparently lost my documents and wouldnt send me another set without paying which i wasnt going to do

3 months later my documents came back unchanged lol

i then sent them off again with the 2.0 details and they sent it back saying they needed an engineers report so i got one sent it all off again, this was nearly 2 months ago and i received a letter today with a v70 form in which i need to tax it again at the higher payment

could they not have told me that on the bloody phone would have saved a lot of hassle

Its far easier to go to a local DVLA office than do it by phone/post...

While we are on the subject of these robbing cunts, just had my tax disc reminder through - Corsa C 1.2 SXi...£93.50 for 6 ******* months :wtf::(

I've noticed that my local office now is really well set out. Used to take hours to sort things but it's really well organised with minimal waiting and a good system. Obviously no good for you swedge but if you need something doing just go down and see them. The people who answer the phones havnt got a clue about anything.

They do far too much by the book as I transferred a plate and I signed the wrong box (first ever transfer) and the other person was aloud to sign outside the box wtf

The problem though if you drive all the way and something's not right then you'll have to drive all the way back

If you called vosa then you'd have known.... Calling the right company/department always helps.

been there done that, asked them what category it had been written off in.. "sorry mate you'll have to phone DVLA for that" theyre both as useless as each other! had a big thing with my vectra as they couldnt decide whether it had been written off or not..

this is true, but applying for a log book is a DVLA issue, cant fill out the form if i don't know what box to tick lol

In short, if vosa say it's not on the vic list then it's either a cat d or fine.

was the dvla who originally told me it had a vic marker, so i went to vosa to find out the category and got that answer, so went back to the dvla and they said it didnt have a vic marker... ****ers lol

Just drive there! Surely its worth the petrol costs to get it all done there and then!! I did this. No hassles!

it was a cat c, and i didn't no if any previous owners had ever put it back on the road, but some helpful DVLA person sorted it for me so its all good again :d guess it just depends on who picks up the phone

this reminds me of once i phones the DVLA and he told me his grandparents lived in the same town as me and there was major roadworks near his office either putting in or taking out roundabout, cant say he manage to sort anything for me :(

tbh ive never had a problem with dvla, i was going to break/scrap my tigra when the tax ran out in june as id still not recieved the log book so didnt bother to write a letter to sorn it, parts never sold and i changed my mind so i got it mot'd and taxed it by post 2 weeks ago, no fine, no hassel and quite stress free
