View Full Version : About to list a car on Ebay, any pointers?
I've only ever sold a vernier pulley on ebay about 7 years ago so a bit green to this.
Are there any bits of text that should be included to cover my ass with both hands
eg No warranty implied or other etc
Been suggested to simply have a buy it now but will take best offers listing rather than a normal classified ad, is that wise?
Thanks
Sold as seen,no warranty etc is fine.
Put a BINWBO ratehr than bidding.

This. Pretty much anything i sell on eBay is listed as BINOBO. Easiest way IMO. Name your price, but you are open to offers. You can also set a filter to weed out dreamers too. With regards to payment, ask for a £100 deposit withing 24hours and a contact phone number. Way too many time wasters about. As you are about to find out when you hit the list your item now button....lol
Oh, i assume you are listing the gay blue chav wagon??? What is replacing it?
Try listing it as classified with best offer !

Classified add IMO
Sold the mini by auction and payed tooooo much in PayPal and eBay fees!
£190 !!!!!!!
I'd don't sell on eBay, gumtree, local adds etc

lol @ ours. Nice choice!!
Just a thought...Bazil mentioned it, check on the fees. That may well be a killer on say a sale price of £1500?
Was hoping the sale price would be higher.... I'd not accept paypal anyway.

Couldnt remember what your FS ad on here said. That was a random price. Would still get a final sale fee regardless of payment option.
Cash on collection ONLY
DONT put your mobile number on there, @unts will be calling you all hours of the day
Classified Ad unless going for bids as FSF is a one time hit of a set amount rather then XYZ%
Sold as seen/no warranty as already said.
Also be careful with cash, take the buyer to your bank and pay the money into your account there and then, that way it gets checked for forged notes for free, plus you dont have the risk of being mugged, and if the buyer/s arent happy then why arent they happy with doing that.........
Listed :) sound like a right mardy coooont at the end of it lol
That was fun. Its a classified but will take offers.

This, my bro once sold his 1 year old r32 to a guy from manchester with gold teeth, who brought cash. Went to bank, paid cash into bank, did log book details on bank counter and handed keys over on the bank steps.

i wouldnt sell a car on ebay unless it was a 'buy it now' add with all the % for selling on ebay added ontop of the bin price
and dont forget if they give you money through paypal you have to pay another load of costs to move it in to your bank account!
your car looks clean would it not do well on pistonheads and other such sites?
Didn't cost me anything to transfer the funds to my bank account, but I did have to verify my account and that I was not a business user due to having more than £2k paid in in a few weeks.
Having said that my bank account is on my PayPal, but only use the CC on it for payments and transfers back to my bank.

PH seems a bit too 'specialist' and a narrow market

With PayPal they shaft you with a fee as the money is received from the buyer, transferring more than £50 to a bank account is free
