i converted my 1.2 spi nova today using a e16se and have wired in the loom and have changed the intank pump for a corsa 1, ive got it to spark but it will not start.. as if the injectors wont fire as it will fire with easy start.. theres a few wires that im not sure about 1 is a 2 oin black plug near the injector plugs ?? and there is 2 black 1s near the coil which unless twisted together wont let the car spark.

any ideas??

Is the loom earthed on the LH side of the injectors? Do they have power at them? What side is the plug on?

yeh loom is earthed not sure if they have power to them mate, the 2 pin plug is inbetween the injectors

The plug might be the supplementary air valve,

ok mate, someone said it sounds like it needs a trigger like a cam sensor or crank sensor but mine hasnt got either

The E16 never had either it works off a hall effect sensor in the dizzy,
Never had a lamda or knock sensor either

Where does your loom take its power from?

big red goes to power and black to switch live

And the fuel pump primes on ignition?

yh mate got the red and blue wired in and it primes when turning over etc

Is should prime just on ignition for a few secs then run when the engine starts,

Defo getting good pressure at the fuel rail? ( should be 2.5 bar FPR )

it doesnt prime all the time on ignition

On my 2 when ignition was on stage 2 it would prime for about 2-3 seconds then stop,

Did you hear or see the engine running before the conversion?

i had the engine out of my old rally car but it was on webbers, then i bought all the injection stuff seperate

Cool,

First you'll need to check your getting signal to the injectors, if yes then check your getting fuel to the injectors, if yes but still no spray then check the resistance in each injector, if all that's good then it's possible ( but unlikely ) all 4 injectors could need cleaned ( my mates Astra had 4 blocked injectors after sitting unused for 6 years )

Or try a different AFM as it controls the fuelling

Where does your fuel pump get it's power from? It should have a realy of the ecu loom and be fed from it,

yh ive got it going from the fuel pump relay on the loom

If its sparking I doubt its the fuel pump relay, but worth a try.

Also, is the fuel pump definately connected the correct way? Back when I was 17, doing my first conversion I put the fuel hoses on backwards, and it took me a few hours to work out what had gone on lol

I would also try the AFM, as the 1600 wont even run without one!

i think it could be somethiing todo with the afm, it started today and ive been using it all day then came outta work and it started, cut out and wont start at all now :/

Re-check all your earths are good

Is the earth connected from the gearbox to the chassis leg?
