As per title, Ive got my 1.2 on coilovers and good tyres, and if go round a big roundabouts quick i get oil surge and then the nice cloud of smoke out the back after lol
So i know XE's do this when on track and the fix is to cut parts of the rocker baffle down, is there way of stopping my 1.2 carb from doing this, as im also sure its not good for the engine, and before anyone say's yes it can be stopped by slowing down, then no i want a fix, not a cure! lol
My 1.2 carb used to surge and the oil light came on mid corner.
If its chuffing out the back its surely going back into the inlet so a catch tank/breather setup would resolve it? I can't remember how it's set up on a 1.2 though.
I thought the vauxhall sumps were already fitted with a horizontal baffle plate. I hav spoken to Tarmac oval lads and they just use them as standard. Either yours hasnt got one or something else is wrong.....
I was thought it was only the 1300 sumps that had one fitted ? I could be wrong tho

Slow down:d
buy 15w50 oil.
get the engine re-ringed
run it at the bottom level of the dipstick, not the top...
i never experienced smoke with oil surge just oil light and tappy engine for a second or two lol. Also i find the fuel in the carb surging being a bigger problem than the oil
