Looking through the late 80s technical data the cd (drag) of the SR is lower than the GTE.

SR cd 0.36
GTE cd 0.37

AS far as I can see the only physical difference between the two cars is the side skirts but, I would have thought they would improve the CW?

Opinions?

(apart from i am so sad to be looking through that stuff anyway!)

Probably the Front bumper / wider tyres / rear spoilers etc...

The side skirts might have actually hindered things too lol

probably the slightly lower ride height on the gte.

lower ride height would lower the drag and the front bumpers are the same as are the spoilers. surely as well the tyre width is the same if they have the 3 spokes so dunno lol

Nice!

I'm not looking at dynamics for my car, 0.01 is not going to make any difference,I just thought it was strange that the car with the sideskirts was less aerodynamic, kind of defeats their purpose?

the side skirts are also fantastic rust traps...

Dare I say....so are Novas?

Yes, they always look as though moisture would stay trapped at the sills and especially the open drilled holes.

if you think a nova can rust quick, then a nova sideskirt is like the usain bolt of rust..
