im part way through wiring up my c20xe and have an oil pressure switch like this

http://1.2.3.13/bmi/www.max-boost.co.uk/max-boost/internet_articles/MIG%20Vauxhall%20-%20XE-LET%20oil%20pressure%20and%20temp%20senders,%20wha t,%20why,%20how,%20where_files/sender01.jpg

but i only have 1 wire which i think is for the light on the dash, my question is do i wire it onto the threaded pin or do i need a plug and wire it into that? or do i need a different oil pressure switch to screw in the pump and wire that up?

borrowed this off mig as i couldn't remember myself

On a standard 20XE there is a pressure sender/low pressure combo switch (astra gte, some calibra/cally turbos, also fitted to 1.6 nova gte) the bare copper pin drives the variable pressure gauge on the digi dash or cav/cally analog gauge. the single pin sure seal type connection drives the low pressure warning light on the dash/check control.

so the sticky out pin is the pressure gauge one & the female one on the rhs is the oil switch one
