i'm guessing dob

the v5c will only have the registered date, and it could be a fair few months older, you need to look for date codes on plastic trim, to be more accurate.

Yeah DOB, Think it would be nice to have one exactly the same age as me!, Thanks Mowgli, Where on the trim exactly is it displayed? :)

Would be interesting to know if Vauxhall keep build dates from chassis numbers or similar. My track car is actually somewhere near the same age as me, being registered in the same year.

There is a way of telling exactly when the vehicle was built from the POC plate number ;)

I know my old Sport, now Edd's was the 385th Nova/Corsa A built on the 11th March 1985.
I did check the Swing & Sport but forgot what date they were

Poc plate number? (Sorry for being dumb lol), Also going back to the point lol Anyone have one or know someone that does? Would be happy to swap for mine (New gte engine due to be fitted in next 2 weeks) :)

Right, you need a 'J' chassis number for a 1988 built car. ie, VSX000093J........ and if you look at the POC plate to the left of the VIN plate(Usually painted body colour) there will be some numbers on there. You need the first number on the second line down, for a June build car it needs to be between 2620000 & 2919999. Good luck, you will probably need it ;)
