Just been reading this, and it appears a 1.2i Nova is the cheapest car to insure!

Yay, Nova's finally in the news for the right reasons!! lol

it is for someone my age with a decent no claims......

but by the time they add the young driver into the sums a 2 appears on the front of it.......

To be fair he isn't far wrong. When I was trying to pass my test etc, I got offered my mark 1, went and got a quote on it etc, and was about 5-600+ cheaper than anything else that was 1.2 or under...

Its mainly because theres so few of those specific models around and on the roads now, that they have low risk figures. How many 1.2i Trip models are left now? and since thats the only Nova on the list (there's two Escorts) presumambly even other 1.2i Novas have higher ratings

Liam, it's a shame to put the X16xe in then as your insurance is going waaaay up soon lol

Youre fooking kidding, and i thought id always paid over the odds for my insurance, my first car was a j reg rover 414 SLi 1.4 16v and i was paying £1300 fully comp at the age of 20!

Ten years later and ive got two seperate policies on my astra and nova, both with all the mods declared and the nova is a c20xe and im still paying less than £1000 for both:eek:

3k for an SR - Jesus wept @ that deadmoney.

They better be giving you 2.5K for it should you barrel roll it 14 times off a cliff whilst on fire.

I assume those figures are purely because of some tw4ty macro'ed program that lists the number of "cat x-y-z" occurrences to the particular model. There is zero correlation between 3K PA for an SR and £300 for a 1200cc SPi in terms of performance - because if there was the SR would have 10x the value and speed of the 1.2i spin; so lets all dream about 720BHP from a normally aspirated 1298cc 8V engine.
