driveshaft gaiter - potential probs

hi peeps,

ive just discovered ive been drivin round with a split outer d/s gaiter
its booked in for repair tomorrow but i dont know how long its been knackered for so i might be in for a nasty shock and just wondered what more sinister pobs can occur if this fault is left unrepaired so i so can get ready far a body-blow

any advice apprieciated

i wouldnt worry

mine was split for ages. does it make an awful crunchng sound when u corner or put it on full lock and turn round like? just needthe new boot and filling with grease and it will be ok!!

no but does make a sound as if i had somethin sticky on the wheel, like an intermittent hiss, i was worried that i might have dried it up and/or god loads of shite off the road in it

nah if its knackered u would defo know about it

anways i drove round for a year doing over 15k miles with mine sounding like it was gonna fall off
