Replacement rear shock absorbers - recomendations required

I need to replace the rear shock absorbers on my standard 1988 1.3SR.

I don't want to change from the original ride height or ride quality.

Would I best best sticking with replacment standard GM parts or are there aftermarket ones that are just as good or better? Are GM parts availale?
