it is running bilstein shocks all around, polly bushes, goodrich hoses. It has a 1300 sr engine, with a kent ast2 cam.
We all call it the pea for obvious reasons.Plans are to fit all the stuff i have been storing like the fibreglass bonnet and tailgate , polley carb windows, safety devices rollcage, quick rack, seats and harnesses, will have to take the 40`s off the try my luck at road rallying. All the stored parts came off my old road rally car that rolled a few years ago on its first outing.
I`m live close to leominster in herefordshire.I`m sorry for the spelling mistakes and am sorry for all the questions i`m going to ask you lot in the future :). just wanted to add , a great site you all have here :thumb:

Looks great, seems a shame to rally it though. Early ones are getting thin on the ground now.
Liking the mods so far though, and the chrome window surrounds look good.
Welcome to the club:thumb:

Fear not, road rallying isnt as harsh as it sounds.
I like that, looks solid in all important areas.
Welcome to the club.

The chrome was on there when i bought it , was a standard 33,000 miles from new car when purchased of ebay a few years ago.Think it has done 42,000 now altho the engine and box are`nt the originals. No road rallying isnt to bad really and tbh its one of the best shells i have seen .

thats facking awesome, if you take the chrome off when polycarbing i'd be interested, maybe the interior as well

Ok mate will keep you in mind, altho i think i may keep it on there but not sure yet . I have a set of 13" rfx`s aswell as these wheels. i Like small wheels and low car , that looks plain. Thanks for the positive comments, i thought against some of your xe and let powered cars it might be abit feeble.

big blocks are crap

Well i have driven a big blocked nova and tbh didnt like it, way to much weight up front for me. My boss has a tarmac stage rally nova with the 1600 16v in it , that puts out about 195bhp, but he wont let me have a go ..... yet

The car looks lovely, looks like it was originally a GL?

Personally if you really want to make all the go faster options then fine, but I would then make it look original like the GL, then more of a surpirise when you pull away from a round about like a bat out of hell.

And the GLs are quite rare especially that colour, you will get more interest than a with a modified look.

Ye it was a gl, it did have all the std interior but i have to be honest i binned it all :(. I have all the hisdtory with it, it was sold to an old gentleman who didnt use it much , he was then told he wasnt allowed to drive anymore due to old age, so he wrote a letter to vauxhall to see if they would buy it back (i have the letter) , i beleave then the vauxhall main agent bought it off him and one of the macanics had it, who then sold it to the gentleman i bought it of. I have replaced the wings and rear arches and then resprayed the lower half about 4 years ago, which is why it looks so clean really.
Thanks for all the kind welcomes. i will try and make it look fairly plain and standard as that is the look i like.

welcome to the jungle...that is a fine looking car... keep it up, do your own thing, but if you do take any original bits off, please sell them on here first, and don't just skip them... these early novas are getting thin on the ground..

youre in the right area of the U.K for tuning small block's; as your bosses' 1.6 will testify.
Nice little project.

Who would you recomend in my area? My bosses engine is a Bowyer .Martin Bowyer is a very good old school friend of my boss and work mate. The only prob is he is sooo slow and hard to get hold of but his engines do speak for themselves really .
