show me your loons

as per title
i have just bought a fern green 2dr loon for my lad for his 19th and we are looking for inspiration as to what you can do with them - wheels / lowering / new fronts / etc etc
please put a bit of info on each post as to what you have done;)
we would also like to know what to avoid doing -
you know, the things that make you go Doh! or wish i hadn't sold / put that on / taken that off:cry:

Personally I'd keep that exactly as it is (or at least keep hold of anything you change, even the wheels), standard spec nova's are cool now, and getting rarer all the time.

Some under bonnet shiny stuff wouldn't hurt though, even simple things like stainless (unstressed) bolts replacing old rusty ones makes a great difference.

My advice would be don't bin or sell anything off it, every part is getting soooo rare no that even the hideous green interiors will be soon worth something soon.

lovin the stance of your fern green loon chambers1984 and the expression wheels on the white loon are my favourite but lad wants banded stuff - kids?
how come some cars look lower at the back?
just had coils fitted / new cambelt as stat as wasn't working and off for a jolly good service tomoz along with some new 175's instead of 145's - so it should be on the road in time for my lads 19th next monday.
next job after that will be brake upgrade (should have done first - hope it lasts?)
we also want ali pressed number plates but legal ones - any one bought any recently?

loons seem to be getting very popular recently so theres lots of inspiration to be had, dont think you can go wrong with a nice set of wheels, possibly even banded steels and a bit of lowering, thats all mine had in that picture.

That is simply stunning. Makes you wonder why Vauxhaull themsleves didn't do a GSi spec saloon (I suppose it would make other models in their Astra and Cavalier range seem like less of an upgrade)

Oct Paul, what's them wheels in your top pic? Did you roll your arches outwards??

The wheels are Compomotive SSR's, 13x7. The arches are rolled, only a little on the front but about half an inch wider at the rear.

these are 13x7j, no spacers, this is how they sit. they are 4x98 so straight off a mini.

That was the best it ever looked. After that it got petrol bombed and I rebuilt it, minus the tints, however its showing more signs of wear and tear (dents etc)
