How can i get my drive shafts off the gearbox on my nova without using the special fork shaped tool? Cheers

Yep, give 'em a damn good pull, don't be scared, make sure the car is secure and won't come off the axle stands, cos that hurts!

Sometimes does prove a little hard to pull out, but its only a small cir-clip holding them in so give it a bit of welly!!

Or get a screw driver behind it 2 giv it a little extra, if u think ur pulling hard and it aint comin out, it aint enough!

try a crowbar, ive used that LOADS of times, always does the trick, real pain 2 get out though. just keep trying :lol:

Ive nvr had to use a crowbar now but i no there brave an tight if they've nvr been removed before.

i never had any that tight, sometimes need a damn good pull but as Corsa Nova siad as long as the car is secure put all your weight on it they will come.

when they are very tight ( a serious pull doesn't loosen them) use a crowbar or big flat chisel to prise them off the box as mark said. its makes it a lot easier.

pop out the ball joint, turn the steering wheel to the side you are taking out then give it a good yank. shud pop out :P
