could anyone recommend any way that I could bring my car insurance down. its at £5300 per year at the moment (just a quote), since it was only a quote I said i had my license for 3 months but I havent yet passed my test and im only 18. I was thinking of a black box as a last resort but I've heard that they are parasytic drains on the battery an I dont know where they would mount it, I dont want to cause any damage to my car or anything so if anyone knows of any better ways then please let me know :) thanks for looking

only real way to get lower insurance for when you pass is get something like a 1.0

nothing big as they will just rape you for insurance, and also the pass pluss is good ive heard for new drivers

cheapest way i have found to get my to teenage kids insured as cheap as i could was with Admiral muliti-car policy
so if your folks have more than one car then try getting a quote for them and adding your car onto that policy as well
we saved a packet when my daughter first went on then Admiral policy and they have just been the cheapest quote so far £2800 for a 19 yr old with no no claims on a loon 1.2
hope this helps and worth a quote?

ive already got a 1.0 but i reckon they still consider a nova as a 'boy racer' car, even if it is 26 years old but i will look into pass plus :) and im the only one that will be driving in my house, my dad can drive but he lives in another place but i may still try and add him but i doubt it will make much difference, thanks guys, much appreciated :D

simply go along with every scheme you feel comfortable with, advanced training, limited miles, tracker boxes etc.....

only time & a decent driving history lowers your premiums

Try cis (co-op) or as soon as your 19 try flux/hic

When I passed my test as said above CIs were cheapest

My first insurance (many years ago!) was with Co-op and it was the cheapest.

Having just got back in to Nova ownership, they are still the cheapest and didn't insist on insurance approved alarm being fitted. They are polite and have good customer service too (breakdown cover is also resonable and came in handy recently!).

Tried admiral/elephant (direct, not via gokat.com) with parents and others as second drivers?

Your postcode area isn't brilliant so that's going to batter you a bit.

my post code area is abit crap so that will definately up the cost and the only people i can add to my policy is my dad and sisters boyfriend but they dont live at the same address so it doesnt count.
