Hi guys, new user on the forum and this is my first nova project. Owned nothing but vauxhalls in my so far quite short driving career. I served an apprenticeship in a vauxhall main dealers and have always had a soft spot for nova's. The project is a A Reg mk1 with 30k genuine miles on it and it runs like new, Body needs a fair amount of work done but i suppose thats all part of a project :)

Signed up here to hopefully get some advice from more experienced nova owners. So be ready for loads of questions.

Only have a couple of crappy camera phone at the moment but ill get some more up soon.

Thanks for looking.

early ones are always the best and you've certainly found the right place for help with it. add you location and i'm sure there will be a very experienced member to lend a hand with anything near you

central scotland is a big area but at least good to see another early nova in scotland, a bit rare now, I have 2 84 modelw but rarely see any novas this far north.

Keep us up on how you get on, I can see you've started the body work already, your not going for the rot through in two years filler option then!

lol i know sorry i live in glasgow atm but my workshop is in bathgate and its soon to be moving to fife so ill update once im settled in fife. I want to try and restore the shell as best i can, so doing my best to do things properly by cutting out any of the bad rust and welding clean stuff in, but this is the first time i have attempted such a big welding job. So ill just take my time and keep everyone updated.

You look like you've made a good start anyway so best of luck, I have kept my two early novas original as that is part of the charm and unusual ( well the swing had been chavved up but I returned it to original spec), everyone would think I was mad, putting a 1.0 in!

I think I ought to do that too but they are so rare where I a so just got to deal with what I've got, will be getting attacked with a welder fairly soon :/ good luck though, keep us updated with the progress :)
