hi all
on the air flow meter i believe that the screw is to adjust the idle mixture. how does this work and how do i set it? like does it only work on 1 revolution or is it continuous until it turns the fuel off?

you need to use it with an emissions tester. and also adjust the idle on the throttle body too.

did i read somewhere it only adjusts it at idle?

thats what im confused with does it only affect idle or all rev range?

ok, what engine are we on about??

my e16se has an idle mixture screw. this dictates the co emissions at idle, when hot.
it also has an idle screw on the throttle body to adjust the actual idle level. this is then taken as a base figure by the jetronic afm to then calculate the fuel mixture for the whole rev range.

it only adjusts the mixture at idle, double checked with the haynes. are you needing to adjust the mixture through the whole rev range then?

it does smell of petrol when i am driving yeah. is it possible?

it is possible but not down to your mixture imo. only way to know for sure is get it on a co machine. its more likely a fuel leak imo
