buying a set of coil overs and have been advised to beef up rear attachment points of suspension at turret and lower bracket areas and wondered if any one has done this and best way to go about it?;)
it makes sense that the work of the spring has been moved to a new position adding pressure in new areas!
any photos if any one has done this:confused:
cheers

Not strengthened my upper turret but I have replaced the bracket on the bottom with one from 'Rally Design' meant for a MK1 Escort.

Have a look in projects section. Mine is titled 'project winter freshen up'
Will be pics few pages from the end.

These are the brackets i used

I didnt fit them quite right so it made the rear shock sit at a slight different angle to standard.
Do a bit of measuring etc so they sit exactly where the ones you remove are & you should be fine.

To those that have fitted rear coil overs, do you find the car handles better? A worth while mod ?

I imagine it's difficult to get a like-for-like comparison as spring rates, damping, rideheight will change. Benefits include ability to set the ride height and easily swap spring rates with off the shelf springs to tune handling characteristics.
