Well its my birthday but I ain't happy, got involved in someone else's accident tonight and here are the results

Well was really unlucky tonight and got involved in an accident, not my fault as I was sat at the junction when a merc driver failed to notice the ford approaching from the opposite direction and croseed in front of him getting t boned and deflecting the ford into me.

Happy birthday. I trust you are OK

It is an irony that on the radio today there is a report which says people have never felt so unsafe behind the wheel.

Yeah all people involved are ok, the passenger in the merc hurt her arm but other than that all ok.

Car looks repairable but will get the wing off today and have a better look behind it.

Yeah both front wheels are mullered, passenger bottom arm and ball joint are kinked, wing needs replacing along with indicator. Bumper needs a crack repairing then some new paint splashed about and it should be ok. Doesn't seem to be any structural damage.

Wounded matey, gutting on your birthday aswell man

Thats my biggest fear when im out in the nova, that someone either crashes into me, or you get dragged into someone elses stupidity:eek:

Spud that was also one of my worries with Bessie being my old daily, I ended up being paranoid all the time and didn't enjoy driving it properly :(

Yeah well that's exactly how I'm feeling at the minute. Just trying to decide whether to repair, strip and sell or reshell as it was due to an sold on Friday.

Id wait till youve had some time to calm down and have a think about it before making any decisions tbh dude, and just a thought, your little lad wasnt in the car at the time was he:eek:

without your explanation of how the cars arrived where they did it looks as if the ford got written off by a front end collision with the side of a Nova which had a couple of brackets bent and the bumper fell off.

but the truth is that it must have been very frightening to see a ford heading towards you with absolutely no side impact protection.

I've noticed the guy/girl next to the ford is in a wheelchair, if that's there car did they have a disabled sticker in the car, if not then is this classed as uninsured properly I wonder? Just a thought btw.

I was waiting at the junction for the ford to come past from the right when the merc came from the left and crossed in front of the the ford. This spun the merc and deflected the ford in to me.

The ford is a motability car so is fully insured as are mine and the merc who has accepted full liability for the accident.

And spud yes Tj was in the car with me, directly behind me in his car seat.

As said had visions of it being a lot worse if the ford had swerved he could of gone straight in to the side of me or could have pushed the merc into me which would have caused a lot more damage and a lot more injury.

All good from your side then, was only a suggestion regarding the mobility side of things as you never know what people may "claim" ;)

Is Tj alright then mate, might be worth having him checked out at your local gp tomorrow with him being so young and already having the need of his racing wheels!

tommy8252

Yeah I know what you mean southie.

And Tj was checked out by paramedics last night and has been checked over by the gp this afternoon and has been given the all clear. Cos he's a hard northern lad lol

people who own mercs cannot drive properly at all !!!!!!! trust me lol

Although they do seem to crash themselves with no fault of the driver :p

Alls well that ends well by the looks of it. Saying you were 'lucky' is stupid, but at the same time it could have been worse.
