Are they made to request or can they be purchased off the shelf. Fed up of the cheap noisy plastic one that covers the blower motor... so annoying!

You could make one easy enough, Scott Parker made a few a couple of years back and did a group buy iirc, ask him what technique he used ;)

Also there was one for sale earlier in the for sale section ;) ;)
