is it possible to take a part a mk1 boot lock and take the tumblars out and stick them in a mk2 boot lock

if so how to i take apart the mk1 boot lock

you need both keys for a start... is there even any difference between a mk1 & a mk2 lock?

the mk1 boot lock is a seal unit that i cant seem to get apart and the mk2 is the push button type i have already removed the tumblers out the the mk2 boot lock but i need to know how the mk1 boot lock comes apart to put the tumlars in the mk2 lock so i can have one key for the ingintion barrel, doors and boot

Youre meaing an early tailgate and a late one then, as most mk1 boot locks are the same as a mk2, apart from the early tailgates that dont have the grey plastic grab handle!

you put the key in, then pop the clip off the other end & pull the middle out.

But iirc, the early round lock is completely different to the push button later type!
