Hello,

I have a friend with a 1.4sr who has just been given a pair of webber twin forties and the linkage.

What else does he need to fit them? the manifold obviously. Brackets to move the alternator? Anything else?

when i got mine, i got evrything ready to fit so heres a list of what i got, there isnt much more than what you have listed.

Carbs
Manifold
Filters
Throttle linkage
Manual chock cable
Top & Bottom Alternator brackets
Shorter fan belt (ive got 1.3sr on mine)
Rubber 'O' rings to go in between the manifold and carbs.

Unsure of the name of the next bit but they are like rubber washers with metal cap surrounds. These go on where the carbs join the manifold which allow the carbs to flex slightly.

Thank thats pretty much everything.

where did u buy your whole kit from Gazza?

www.ffwdmotorsport.co.uk have a kit for ?739. Dunno if thats a good price and if that includes everything u need. (includes manifold, alt braket, linkage, pipercross filters).

manual choke cable isnt a necessity

i'd advise that u get yourself a 1300 manifold for the 40's and then buy a 1300 SR head from the scrappy since they flow MUCH better than the 1400 one as standard and there is little point in buying the 1400 manifold now to end up buying the 1300 one in a few months time

everything else he listed is required

might also be an idea to get a road/rally cam in there to help things along

where would you buy all that other stuff from? (I'm thinking of getting those dellorto 40s for sale but they are only the carbs)

manual choke cable is not even worth bothering with

it just floods the engine

?740 aint all that bad assuming the carbs are new

cost ?250-300 per carb normally

I paid 300 for everything. thought that was quite a good deal!

Thackery Washers i think Gazza.

?740 is a bit much for T40's not worth it in my opinion far better gettin them 2nd hand, whole set-ups usually go for around ?300 and will work fine.
