View Full Version : c16se e16se ENGINES.. WHERE THESE USED IN ANY CARS OTHER THAN NOVA GTE'S AND GSI S
Hi I am desperate to locate a basic block and head for gte i race, i want to build up a spare engine but cant get hold of one for love or money, is there a carbed version or even 1 used in an astra or what have you ... please help!!
please!!!:confused::confused:
C16SE came in some mk3 Astra's and they were all injection iirc
Try looking at the Z16SE found in vectra B and Astra G
Some have the engine mount at the front like the nova and the engine is a descendent of the E16SE so the basic block and head are still pretty much the same, as is compression and MPI, things that won't work in a nova would be the injection system ( easier to use the E16SE set up ) and multi rib fan belt,
Certainly something to look at.
wasn't there an spi version (with square ports) used in the cavalier & astra?? might be some good for bottom end parts
C16nz was the spi version.
Different bottom end to mpi though. Different pistons etc.
thats great lads thanks, keep em coming, and if anyone has such an engine.....
you could use the bottom end from a 1600 ecotec, then fit some e16se pistons, the 1400 8v mpi corsa head would be an ideal swap
what's the racing class??
its stock hatch as in 750 motor club circuit racing not the dirt track stock hatch, we have to keep em stock...nice ideas tho :-) cheers
Have you tried Colin Smith? he normally has a few kicking about. look him up in the traders section.
hi Gary yes i have, he has none, but thanks for the nod
