nova sr 1.3 idle/driving problem :s

hi i have 1.3 nova sr. has run fine for the last couple of months that i have been driving it, and now out of no where it will randomly die when i put the clutch in and the wont idle when i try and start it again, but it doesnt do this all the time. it has also tried to cut out whilst driving it once. doesnt seem to matter what the temperature is either. the problem seems to be completly random. Any ideas?? :confused:

pierburg? i had the same problem ,I got a newer one cheep replaced it it has been fine since. Even the old one in bits has no visable damage. Try a strip and clean with some decent carb cleaner.

I have been considering a weber but didnt want to do it if it wouldnt sort the problem :)

you'll need top strip the whole carb, incidently I assume you are certain it's fuel and not ignition? Faulty coils etc can play up intermittently.

If you do strip the carb, check every jet and even the seal of the the accelerator pump and so on.
