Complete noob to this so please help!

I am assembling all the parts for the fuel system. I have got a fuel tank, swirl pot and cossie high pressure pump. I will be getting a facet red top pump soon. I have also got braided fuel line. I am happy enough with where it will all go and how to plumb it in but struggling with the fuel line connectors.

Tank has AN-8 so I will need to get 2 AN-8 to AN-6 reducers as I will be running 8mm ID fuel line. The swirl pot has 8mm OD connections so that works. I have found these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN6-6-90-DEGREE-HOSE-END-FITTING-JIC-REUSABLE-Black-P-N-13970-/251018449808?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a71dd9390 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN6-6-90-DEGREE-HOSE-END-FITTING-JIC-REUSABLE-Black-P-N-13970-/251018449808?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a71dd9390)
am I right in thinking that they will connect to the fuel line and then screw onto the AN-8 to AN-6 reducer
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN8-8-AN6-6-REDUCER-ADAPTER-FEMALE-MALE-Blue-/330600224950?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cf94f18b6 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN8-8-AN6-6-REDUCER-ADAPTER-FEMALE-MALE-Blue-/330600224950?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cf94f18b6)
then I will just put the other end onto the swirl pot using hose clamps?

From high pressure pump to bulkhead I will use
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-AN6-06-STRAIGHT-Black-Bulkhead-Fitting-/160765826952?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256e63d788 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-AN6-06-STRAIGHT-Black-Bulkhead-Fitting-/160765826952?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256e63d788)
and
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN6-6-STRAIGHT-HOSE-END-FITTING-JIC-REUSABLE-Polished-P-N-13615-/330687106815?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cfe7cceff (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN6-6-STRAIGHT-HOSE-END-FITTING-JIC-REUSABLE-Polished-P-N-13615-/330687106815?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4cfe7cceff)
on either side?

The problem I have got is I cant see how the hose will connect to the fittings? Is it a case of putting the sleeve/cover over the pipe, push it oover the fitting and then screw down the sleeve/cover to make a secure connection?

Sorry for the long post and all the links, I am sure it will be a simple answer for somebody! :thumb:

You need to get the right hose to match the right hose ends. Most use Teflon inside braided hose, if you are putting rubber hose on a Teflon hose connector won't work very well if at all. Rally design do some decent hose ends and you can get the hose by the metre.

Btw I dont like the look of those black connectors, there doesn't seem to be a very positive way of clamping the tube......

Cheers Gary, I already have the hose and it is not teflon lined so rules that out. I think I will just go for some AN to barb adapters then I can use the tradtional method with hose clips. Cheers
