I too was wondering this. If I remember right I think there is HH3, HH5 & HH7. I could've sworn that I saw someone selling a HH7 block recently saying that it was 'rare' and 'very strong'.

Not 100% sure though.

That is the block casting revision. It goes HH1 through to HH9 then HG1 through to HG4. HH1 is earliest and HG4 latest. The later the stronger, allegedly, as it has the most casting revisions and 'should' be the best.

Don't you mean, as it has the most shaved off it that the manufacturer can get away with without the block disintegrating and the cheapest metal has been used then it should be more cost effective! Profit my man, that is what the car industry is about lol

That is why I said allegedly lol!

It is always a balance between manufacturing costs but also reliability and in turn warranty cost to vauxhall!

Personally a middle casting would be best, so it has any bugs ironed out but before they make it to the tightest tolerance aloud!!!

I've been told HH7 is the strongest due to extra webbing to reduce noise.

HH7 is late XE coilpack iirc.

I would have said realistically its just numbers and hear say

I was told the same thing about bottles of buckfast, apparently the lower the number the stronger it was,

Never did notice ant difference,
