got a piper cam but i feel it dont pull as much as it should (its a 272)

which Kent cam would be the best for my 1600 8v??

would sumthing like a 290 be negood?? will the AST2 fit a 1600 or is it for the 1.2 and 1.3?

wot power do they give, my piper is said to be 6 BHP more

what is your full spec, i assume you have already sorted the filter side of things, fitted a head to compliment and help get the best out of your cam, and sorted the zorst out using a different manifold and system etc etc to complete the cycle.

here is the spec m8

fully rebuilt bottom end including:
new pistons
new crank
new shells and rings
polished,ported,gas flowed and skimmed head
4 branch manifold
full powerflow system
inlet manifold modded 2 match the head
new cam follwers ect ect
k&n 57i
group n clutch
piper 272 cam
kent cam belt
new water and oil pump
new head gasket
full set of samco hoses


think thats bout it i think

done around 4000 miles since rebuild

wot would you suggest as the best cam?? i dont think the piper is doing it justice 2 be honest

try a boostvalve maybe, when mine was still on stock injection i ran big valve head, kent nvo62 (270) cam and the usual 4-1 manifold, zorst etc etc and this made a difference on mine to get what i wanted at that time. the engine at that time was very fast off the mark but then the cam range was 1500-6000 on the kent (unsure of piper stats) and as i had tickover by 1200rpm it was almost straight into the power.
