hi , i,ve fitted the c20ne engine out of a mk2 gte, bit stumped on the wiring??, cann't find the permiment live to the ecu on the new loom , some of the diagrams show it branching out of the loom with a ring connector on the end to connect streight to the battery terminal....anyone help ???

that will be the battery +ve feed for the ecu loom..

isn't the engine in an 8v astra gte the c20seh?

i'll have a look in my haynes collection later.. it should be pretty much the same as the e16se.... does your engine have a dizzy or a dispak setup?

c20ne will have a lambda hence the c in the name

20seh wont have a plug for the lambda

thanks, the engine has been in 12 months now, seem to have come to a bit of a stalemate at the moment , if i can get it running i will spend some money on the car and get it back on the road.

Some of the ECU lives are high up the loom some are near the ecu its in hard black plastic usually

Find te permanent live coming from the plug and joint a wire to it from the battery with a fuse in it or find a permanent live to use

according to my trusty haynes, there is

1x 0.75mm2 red from the battery +ve to the ecu *
1x 4mm2 red to the fuel relay *
1x 1.5mm2 red from the fuel relay via a 20A fuse to the fuel pump *
1x 1mm2 black from the ign +ve to the coil feed *
1x 0.75mm2 black from the ign+ve to the distance sensor
1x 0.75mm2 black from the ign +ve to the fuel relay *
1x 0.5mm2 green from the coil to the rev counter *
1x 0.75mm2 brown/white to the EML (warning light) *
1x 0.75mm2 brown/yellow which is for the trip computer option

the ones i marked * i know are absolutely necessary

the trip compooter one is obviously not but i don't know about the speed sensor one

I have a c20ne in my nova and the loom i have is a 3 pin loom, it has a perm live to battery which, as you rightly say branches out of the loom near the octane chip i believe. It was ignition live i had problems with, went from the fuse for blowers and woundered why the fuel pump didnt work when cranking!
