Well this car just seems to be difficult, even insuring it is becoming a pain!

I insured it a month ago and they took a fair whack from me even though I have 10 plus years of no claims bonus because of the modifications on the car.

Anyway, they took my money happily and issued me an electronic certificate/conditions etc.

So at the end of last week (three weeks into the policy) they send a letter asking for proof of no claims.

I emailed them with the details of my previous insurance certificate.

They said no, they need the renewal, I contacted my previous insurer who told me that they used a classic policy which has no no claims feature but they can confirm I was with them last year and had no claims.

Endsligh said this was no good and to go to the previous insurer for proof, I did and they gave me a letter to forward to Endsliegh stating that there was 9 years No claims as at May 2011. Endsliegh have again refused this saying it is not from April 2012.

Thier own documentation says that the no claims proof must be from the last two years which mine is, what is going on here?

I am really cross with what seems to be a scam to
a.. take my money
b.. not supply the insurance (meaning I'll have to go to another company)
c..to fine me with penalties!

I have never heard of hassle like this before with insurance, i am pretty disgusted, they are offering no help or any suggestions to find a way to resolve this.

Photocopy/print their policy guidelines, highlight that particular part with dayglo pen, post it back to them with your proof of NCB.

...maybe wipe your bum with it first lol

You're NCB is valid. Phone the company, speak to a manager. They'll need your previous proof of NCB and that letter so they can see where you have been insured for the last year.

On the mildly plus side, they do have shops/offices all over the UK so there must be one near you that you can go into and shout at someone

Thanks, as soon as I mentioned that I had spoken with a third party who was an expert in insurance (I didn't say it was skyinsurance from here), different story and today i got it in writing.

Why do companies try things like this on!

Thanks everyone for the advice.
