Hello i have just fitted a c14se out of a corsa sri in to a nova saloon 1.2i. it tick over mint but when i rev it it bogs out. and miss fires. but if i go slow on the rev its not that bad. Some times back fires through the air filt.And when im driveing it and i put my clutch in it cuts out. Any ideas
iv done the fuel pump.

you say youve changed the pump, but have you checked fuel pressure at the fuel rail? and you havent got the fuel supply to the rail and the return mixed up have you?

Hi no iv not check fuel pressure have nothing to check it with.No mate i made sure of that.

I had the exact same problem

I had a kink in one of my fuel lines

Ran fine at idle but died hen under load

It's either as swedge said or the MAP sensor - wiring or pipe work. Check these and if everything else looks good replace the lambda sensor.

why would you want to change the lamda sensor under that fault description?

Because when the sensors go they don't fail they mis-read.

Had it happen when I had a C14, the car bogged down, giving it more gas resulted in backfiring and then kangerooing down the road. Swapping the sensor and doing nothing else cured it.

hi i have taken the return pipe off from the engine had it running but there no fuel coming out of it?

yeah the c14se does need a mpi pump but is the pump hes using a mpi pump?

sorry, my bad... gibbo, did you modify the inlet or just bolt the pump in??

i just put the bump in the tank mate. swedge i think its a mpi pump it was bigger then the spi

the inlet needs modifying, but i don't know how, as i've not done mine yet.

the inlet pipe needs shortening i believe, as it kinks if its too long

when i fitted my c14se i didnt have to modify any pipes i dont think

Have you got the feed and return pipes the right way around on the fuel reg and rail?

Dont think so.I got the return coming out of the fuel reg. and in inlet in to the rail.

the return should be coming out the fuel pressure reg and the feed from tank into rail.

all sorted now. it was my falt i forgot to put a jubilee clip on the pump in side the tank.:roll:

at least it was nothing major and you have a nice reference if you have problems later lol
