Hey all, just won these off ebay:

Which im pretty sure are senator/carlton rims? so 5x110?

Theyre going on the mk2 xe im building, which will have vectra hubs on the rear for rear disc conversion so having 5stud at the back is no problem. But im not sure how i'd go about it regarding up front, ive used the search/google etc. to try and shed some light on it but i havent really got anywhere with it. Could i use complete vectra hubs/carriers? ive seen other novas with calibra/cavalier turbo 5 stud wheels so i know its do-able, could anyone shed some light on this please? Will put a *HOW TO* up once ive done it seeing as there isnt one already, cheers jake :)

Check and make sure there not 5x120 like older models were

Yeah i tried emailing the bloke earlier but he was out, measuring them for me before he sends them though :) Pretty sure there carlton CDX rims which seemed to be 5x110 so should be reet

Instead of machining a 4 stud hub (wheel carrier) down, machine a 5 stud hub (wheel carrier).

What do you mean?

The bit that you push into the knuckle the (middle of the wheel bearing). Instead of pushing in a 4 stud one push in a 5 stud one. For a xe conv if u use big shafts not 22 spline ones u have to machine the wheel carrier down. The astra/cav/cally etc bit, macine down a 5 stuf one ins. of 4 stud

Didn't someone on here use the front hubs from a meriva vxr or something with no machining?

Black Gsi on cav turbo wheels iirc.

So is that all there is to it?

Just machine down the centre of the doner hubs to fit inside the nova wheel bearings?

then can you use the standard shafts?:)

Meriva CDTI or VXR hubs is what Kev used,

and they just went straight in?

Yes but you need to use 22 spline gte/gsi,sri td shafts with big block inners

The vxr meriva hubs do not need machined so they fit into nova bearings, I'm unsure of spline count

No.

You need shafts that take big block cvs both sides. As you'll be using Cav/Vectra hubs on the front, so Nova shafts wont work cause they use small block outers.

And yea it's as easy as machining either the hubs or the knuckles.

They fit Nova hubs? I'm surprise as Nova hub are tiny compared to everyone Vauxhall...

So I was told, by Kev who fitted them to hid TD nova, also there is a outer CV that has the internal spline count for nova shafts and external spline count for big block hubs but I'm struggling to find a supplier of them :(

They must have an odd spilne count, as there isn't one that fits a big block hub and small block shaft. I searched every cv joint to find one when doing mine. Hence the need for Big block Nova convo shafts.

I've also just written a "How to 5 Stud your Nova" guide, so as soon as it's ok'd by the powers you can read thru that too...
