Avoid the astra, well any 1.9cdti 150 as the gearboxes are dodgy and the inlet manifolds.
Accord is bullet proof, defo get my vote - worked for Honda for 3 years
Mondeo, well it is a Ford so enough said!
Megane, dci 175 are good when they work but as already said way too many things go wrong on them and always expensive. I also worked for Renault for 2.5 years.

if its electrical and not engine related it will break on a megane!!especially window regs..£170 ish each

never known a gearbox on a z19dt/dth but egr/manifold problems are common.depends how its driven and milage in my opinion..

then again welcome to the new age of motoring.....if its got wheels and an egine expect a light to come on on the instrument cluster!lol

arnt mondeos diesels prone to chewing the ring gear up??or is that a different engine??

accord gets my vote!lol

I'd go for the mondeo st tdci, my dads got a 2.2 tdci and it does 50mpg even when te cruise control is set at 90 mph, and it's 155psi so there's tonnes of grunt, nice specced cars too. And I'm not a ford man.
