Thanks to mowgli (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?2717-mowgli) in advance as im sure he'll make an appearance :)

After a bit of research i want to make sure i do this right,

Fuel pump :
1 Wire to Earth
1 Wire to 12v ignition live ( fused )

Engine :
Green - Rev Counter ( wont be used )
Blue - Water Temp
Black - Switched live ( ignition )
Red - Battery
Brown / Blue - Management light ( use the choke light ? )

Can you add on what else i need to wire in, also is it colour for colour or do i have to get a wiring diagram out to figure it out.

This also may seem a daft question :
Do i just join the wires from the engine loom to the dashboard wiring?, i've done plenty of corsa b injection conversions but they are simple as the plugs are staring straight at me.

Edit - Engine is a C16SE from a mk3 astra

sounds about right to me..........

not sure about management light as ive never wired one up for it think choke light is brown yellow on a nova??

blue green for oil pressure light
blue yellow??may be wrong?? oil pressure guage
blue white alternator charge light

red/blue has alwasy and probably always will be fuel pump

working of memory so may be wrong!!lol

just reuse the original nova wires for the starter/alternator and essential warning senders.

then connect the big red to the big red from the battery.
the black is from the coil feed wire (if a 1.0 originally, replace the wire all the way from the ign switch)
the green is for revs
the red/blue is the fuel pump feed
and the brown/(white or yellow i can never remember) is connected to the chike light for the eml.

you keep the rest of the c16se engine loom as it is in the astra.

cheers mowgli + rep,

Confused about the black wire ? Couldnt i just wire it to an igntion live instead of having to replace the coil wire ?

the black wire that connects to the engine loom (black) needs to be connected to the original nova coil feed. this is the correct wire that keeps voltage fed to the ecu/coil when the starter is cranking. on a 1.0 the coil wire is resistive to drop the feed voltage to 6v for the old style points ignition. it needs replacing or the ecu/coil feed will not be right.

ok that makes sense now, cheers

Clear coated on the 1.0 isnt it, so just trace it to the back of the ignition switch and replace with a normal wire and connect it to the black wire on the engine loom wiring which is near the gearbox area ?
