*groans*
So, i had some calipers on eaby on a BINOBO listing...stated UK bidders only.
Some numpty from Martinique won them *facepalm*
Mailed him to say thanks but no thanks you bellend....or words to that effect!
Obviously i am going to relist the item but it will be at my cost. So where do i stand with regards to issuing a partial refund so i am not out of pocket?
id send them mate, this has happened to me sometimes when selling, just send the invoice with a nice high postage cost extra to cover it, and your be quids in.

But RM wont deliver to Martinique with this weight!
I'd say it depends how the auction was listed. IIRC (its been a while since I sold on ebay...) you should have the option for UK Only postage when listing?
If so, you should be able to cancel the winning bid and go through the second chance offer option or relist (ebay should give you a relist credit).
If not, you would most likely have to either honour the sale and whack on a massive overinflated suitable shipping premium for international postage. Also remember to check out any customs issues sending that country. OR, talk to the buyer and try to get them to agree to a mutual retraction in which case you can relist/second chance it.
I wouldn't be too worried about postage either. As said, you can get tracked international deliveries from various couriers, so as long as you get that and can prove the item was delivered then Paypal will side with you in event of a dispute.
[edit] Just saw the overweight comment - maybe try to retract/relist etc then if you're not happy about it.

Get a quote via Interparcel.com, Parcel2Go.com or similar, there are masses of other service providers aside from Royal Mail! (and these are tracked services as you are required to use to get your Seller Protection nundr PayPal rules)
Make sure you add enough on to cover your packaging costs, and of course the PayPal fees.........
If he doesn't pay up, report it to EBAY as 'Unpaid', and eventually you will get your listing fees back.

I'm selling some speaker stands on ebay at the moment, weight about 10kg.
Some chap in Australia emails me saying can I bid? Well the costs for Parcelforce signed for international delivery is £122 .
Thinking this would put him off (as the stands are only worth about £15-20) he emails me back to say fine, happy to pay that postage and he's now made a bid !
Strange !

Some things you just can't get in some countries. I've sent abroad loads of times at cringe worthy postage costs. But some people will pay the earth for that 'special' item. Well special to them scrap to me.
But if it's in your listing I'm sure you can fob him off, Email ebay.

This is absolutely correct, I reckon 30% of the stuff I sell goes outside the UK, if you restrict your selling to the UK only you are definitely reducing your optimal sales price.
