I have always said nova's were massively denied the arch trim spats of the 80's that looked so good on R5's,205 gti's,xr2's etc etc.

how hard would it be to convert a left hooker to right?

Ive asked him to snap a few more. He says the red nova is near his hotel. He's seen loads of mk1 and 2 fiestas, ren 5 's and old 205's. Guess it'll be easy enough to convert to a right hooker. I'm off to gran canaria in july. Hope to see some novas.

Might see if I can rent one off them haha

hmmm... just the issue of importing then? how does buying a car in the EU work?

Be a big enough job to convert to rhd, bulkheads are different if I remember right. Not worth the hassle converting if you ask me.

Simple enough to import from EU, just get it MOT'd on chassis number, and tax it. £55 first reg fee to pay on top of tax, and that's it!

All the brake bits, steering coloum and rack, dash, but you'd have probs with the wipers as they'll be on the wrong side in the scuttle... Oh and wiring loom...

it would be easy with a rotten donor, the bulk heads only spot welded in.

Is it the bulk head different tho? Only holes for clutch cable and tb cable... Looks mostly the same...

was just thinking a nice unrotten eu nova would be nice ;0) make for an interesting holiday souvenir too. go by plane return in nova, hands up who reckons it would break down on the way back!!!

just keep it a left hooker. it wouldnt break down but the moment you got to northern france the arches would suddenly go pop and rot in a matter of seconds lol lol

and the battery would fall through the tray ;o) ;o)

The conversion is not as hard as it may seem, the main bit is moving the steering rack mount accross and sorting the wiper panel but a single wiper conversion could sort that.

As for getting it back, you can buy transit plates which allow you to drive back for a short length of time with a temporary plate as in most European countries the registration number is retained by the owner.

I would bother changing the wipers, all pug 206 wiper are LHD and not such a big issue tbh

hhmmm... gonna give this some serious thought, Deutschland or Espana?

i would say spain is your best bet for rot free ones

Spain is quite dear for second hand cars, but they will be the best condition rust wise. Everything else will be abused badly I'd say!
Germany will have the strictest testing, but their climate is similar to here so rotten ones are common.
I'm told France is the place to go.......

I heard from a mate a few weeks back, that there is a field full of them, and all of the shells that didnt get sold, might be worth looking into :d

tell your mate to go in sound of cream night club and branigans bar if he is nere there it is good .
and if anyone gets a nova from over there i got a garage not far from me that can swap the wheel to the over side and i dont think it is to much :)

OK I've just put all my old Nova rally stuff into a Corsa A shell there are a lot of thing that will not swap over !! the only two hole's on the bulkhead that are the same are for the heater !!! all the others are in different places you would have to cut out the bulkhead out and put a Nova one in if you wish to make a LHD shell into a RHD shell or do one hell of a lot of f**king about to get it to take RHD parts.
You 100% need a Nova donor car.

anyone used a left hooker over here? never drove one myself just wondered if everyday driving poses issues or does it just become normal

Using a LHD in the UK makes over taking a lot more difficult as to must move right out into the on coming lane before you can see if it's clear or not :(

i'd keep it LHD if I were to buy one, but of course the problems include: automatic carpark barriers/ticket machines, paying for fuel at ASDA, fast food drive through's, and not being killed when trying to overtake. and nobody has a passenger 100% of the time lol

be a holiday to remember 2 weeks of sun and a corsa A through duty free ;o)

I've owned a lhd Crx and used it on our roads. As said it was fun over taking but you did get use to looking down the lhs of trucks before overtaking.
It was a bit of an art form but did work.
It takes about a week to get use to
A) not getting in the wrong door
and
B) getting use to driving on the other side of the car.

The master cylinder has a much more direct action on a LHD as the pedal is right behind it so I'd keep it a left hooker
