View Full Version : Which bottom radiator hose for a C20XE?

Which hose fits properly with an XE? I'm using a GTE radiator, and originally used the calibra hose, which did the job but chafes badly on the gearbox mount. So I've just tried to fit an SR hose but it's far too small to fit over the plastic pipe on the block. :wall:

I know I could spend every penny I have on a roose one, but I've just bought 3 for the heater matrix and header tank at £70 so would rather not lol

You need a nova gte/gsi hose

I was under the impression they were the same as an SR hose? is the GTE/GSI plastic water pipe larger than the SR then?

ah, a quick look on EPC reveals 3 part numbers,

90421716 - which is common between both 1.4SR and GTE,

90167131 - which is SR (and what I have)

90348216 - which is GTE


and all are NLS :wall:

So I need part 90348216?

Just fit the Calibra hose and cable tie another piece of hose around the bit that chafes. Temporary bodge till the correct hose can be obtained!

aye this is what Dan and I came up with earlier. It's just annoying, as it means having to drop the coolant again lol

I'm not spending £500 on some hoses! I've now got roose top hose, heater matrix hoses and header tank hose, might buy a bottom hose when i'm feeling flush, but not buying any others! far too expensive lol
