Car tax query

Basically I would like to know if I tax my car for 6 months, could I cash the tax back in after say 1 month and get 5 months money back?

Yes, you should be able to get 5 months back, but not sure if the refund per 6 month or 12 month rate, i.e. the extra you pay for the 6 months rather than 12.(as long as the disc is returned to them before the end of the month
