i was wondering about the long term ownership of our toys, after passing my test and running an sr for 9 months visited the motorshow when the gte came out in 88 and had to have a bit of that so purchased a new gte from Dixons in hull, there was only me and a driving school in scunny with gtes as everyone was into 205 gti back then. 89000 miles and all wrapped up in a shipping container all original except for wheels. are there any other long term owners out there?

my current nova was bought in apr 2000 & i had stuck a note thru the owners door 2 years before that.

Always been a Nova of some description at the house since 1984!

true, theirs not that much left to do, a couple of holes to weld up, seat rails to weld in, engine in + wire up, mount a seat and bolt everything back on, it will then be very nearly mot time :)

GT4 is over 7 years now. The saloon I bought in 2006 I think, so coming up to 6 years.

I don't tend to chop and change my cars much (lol), as I just buy something to fill my requirement which doesn't really change much. No point selling the Celica as its not worth much but still does exactly what I need it to do, and I'd only want to replace it with something more expensive.

I bought the shell as a half built car in 2004 and picked it up on the back of a wagon. It was stripped then dipped, pained and partially built. It stayed that way until Edd bought it off me so it never saw the road apart from on a trailer :(
