wanted an intake temp switch for a E16se engine ,must be a 2 wire type & be the square plug end type ,cheers.:thumb:

ok, ya got me.... i've never heard of this switch, and i have been messing with e16se's for a good while.. are you sure its not the coolant temp switch?

ive looked in the haynes manual ,its bolted in the small alloy body that goes on the back of the inlet ,its the body that water passes through, theres a sensor that points towards the passenger side im after

definitely CTS (coolant temp switch)

just ring a local factors & ask for a square plug type cts for a vauxhall

my coolant temp switch is on the side of the head under the dizzy ,if youve got a haynes manual on novas , its on page 13.34 supplement top of the lhs of the page

and you have the later type head then.. i got a replacement head with the round type CTS under the dizzy,... so i left it in to plug the hole.

my engine is a really early one & has the block on the back of the inlet manifold with the water pipes to it, & it has a square type cts exactly where you describe...

ive just taken the switch out & it doesnt even go into any water related jackets ,it just screws into the inlet ,gm part number 267063 (17*-12*)

best off buying new than second hand with that sort of stuff, you know it wont break again
