Y17DT oil pump problem ?

Is the oil pump pulley prone to fcuking up on these engines? Mine has gone and decided to eat the fuel pump casing, the pulley bolt hole has elongated and the oil pump drive looks iffy.

Any gen on this?

Yep - standard on these engines

Gear nut becomes loose and wears the pump drive shaft - you can buy a new pump gear and shaft to fit to your pump from Vauxhall

Used to do loads at work years ago when they were a current model - dont see so many these days

I have looked up the part numbers and as you say it's best just to replace the drive and cog, cheaper too.
