Long story short my money has gone up finally! But my tax code on my payslip is different its now 810L, I put this in to Google and apparently its a emergency tax code  why would I be on emergency tax when I've been with this company for nearly a year and a half and wasn't before my money went up?

Also looking back at my payslip its started a fresh has the financial year come to a end this month?

It use to be a lot easier being payed cash in hand lol

Yes we are on a new tax year with new code as personal allowance has gone up.

Just checked hmrc, means you are entitled to the basic tax breaks. as in you dint get benefits or may pension. They just use the same code as the emergency code. (8100 tax free, then 20% up till 30k)

so unfortunately your payslip is correct.

810L is right, entitles you to £8,105 tax free.

BR is the usual 'emergency' code, basically you pay basic rate (hence BR) on everything up to the higher rate (£34,371). Usually you'll get that if HMR&C don't know how many jobs you have, as you can only apply your allowance to one.
