What I don't understand is how things like this are coincidently caught on video? Do people just drive around with recording equipment to see if they catch anything tube worthy?

I've often sat there thinking 'LOL funny as...' or 'Damn that is crazy' then thought wasn't it a bit lucky there was someone there with a camera lol
Sometimes due to the nature of the video I feel some of them are planned. He seemed to be following at a very 'safe' distance. Hmmmmm...
mr tek aka police lol hes on to something

Don't really spend that much time on youtube tbh.
This one I get is legit I doubt anyone would fake it but I'm generalising on videos on the net.

Yes they do, most are fitted by manufacturers on behalf of insurance companies, so that the events leading upto an accident/claim can be shown to them and the claim rightfully settled/culprits brought to bear!
Oh and REPOST :p

Then again you've got the ones on mobile phones that are 'randomly' filming and all of a sudden something happens that they just happen to catch.
Like I said I'm not just on about vids filmed from a car watching other cars. I'm talking about everything.

Alot of foriegn counties insurance firms insist on things like road hawk cameras being fitted for young drivers/performance cars etc.

Don't know about bad crash, deadly crash seems more appropriate
Can't see the film but seen enough crashes this year to last a life time. Joys of being on the road all day i guess :(

A truck hits a car in the opposite direction and the car disintegrates. Very sad

1. Think about all the things you see, and you wish you had a camera, then, consider that many for EVERYONE, and suddenly you have a tiny amount that gets filmed, and then you get to see the filmed stuff, and wonder why you can't watch the unfilmed stuff :S
2. I know people who drive with dash cams, wired on an ignition live, so it starts recording when you start driving:
