Hi,
In need of the PNG experteeeese. Im popping a redtop into my Nova and am running it on twin webbers. Can anyone give me an idea of what , if any work is required to lower the alternator so that it clears the carbs. Any advice or tips would be great as its something I have not done before.
Thanks people.
Any general tips on the conversion would be great too.

Hey, I've linked pages from here to help people on Allcorsa, so it's time to repay the favor haha: http://www.allcorsa.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/fit-bike-carbs-47283.html?t=47283&highlight=carbs+c20xe

There's a guide in the articles section for the alternator and chassis leg mod I'm not too sure on the carbs getting in the way I'm running r1 carbs and have no problem

r1's sit more of an angle than webbers they tend to sit straight

What inlet are you using? My sbd inlet made the carbs foul.

Actually I think sbd might sell a lowering bracket for 45's

Someone will confirm but this bracket should do you.

Had a redtop on twin 45s years back and to memory that had a cut and welded alternator bracket. Will have a look to see if I have any pictures of it.

Thanks guys. I have lowered the alternator bracket by about 1 inch so it clears the carbs but need to move out the chassis I think. The shell is a Group A left hand rally shell and I have discovered that the gear linkage is fouling on the nearside steering rack mount as thats where the steering column comes through. I will throw a few pics on soon. I am using an SBD inlet to run the carbs on . It almost seems as the motor needs to drop further down as the gearbox housing fouls on the front nearside mount.
Thanks for all the help so far .

the earlier sbd manifold fits fine however, there's another user on here with it fitted, will try and dig out his wip for you.

I see the issue there. I made a plate and lowered the alternator by a good inch but its too tight on the chassis leg now even on the single-v pulley.
