Looking into buying one of these, figure there exactly the same as a dremel at a 3rd of the price lol

If anyone has one would you recommend a straight one or one with a 90 degree head?

It will be used for cleaning of pistons mind porting and polishing etc..

Any reason? I thought the 90 would be easier to work with :/

with a straight one you can apply more even pressure

Yours was the reason I want one swedge lol was that an air pressured one? Didn't think about pressures tbh I can see why now thow!

Nope electric, tbh your now really putting any serious pressure when using it

Let the tooling do the work, I have a few carbide burs that cost more than the silverline tool lol well worth it though just keep it oiled when using it and they last longer

I suppose that's better than an air pressured one thow, does it have adjustable speeds?

And how did you find porting and polishing, never done anything like that before but figured take my time and have a go! No harm in trying on an old head lol

Air pressured ones are supposed to be better as they maintain a constant speed where as electric ones will slow down the harder you push

I'm on my phone ATM but I'll send you a link to a good site I used for a guide when doing mine

You need a steady hand and patience as 1 slip and the heads ****ed lol

And yes it's adjustable

but if you get an air powerd one make sure you have a good compressor as they take alot of air to power them

straight all day long, 90 deg is only useful in really confined spaces, but will prevent you reaching most other places. also, air die grinders have more torque so don't bog down when you use them, handy if your removing bearings from flanges etc, as you won't just use it for porting heads.

just keep it oiled when using it and they last longer

carbide burrs should be used dry. so long as they are at high speed they are fine. oil just encourages them to rub as apposed to cutting, increasing heat and decreasing tool life. unless your continuously flooding it with coolant, it's wasted time/effort/tooling
