View Full Version : Brakes bleed nipple broken :(

Ok guys my mate owns a set of hi spec 330mm 4pots he was fitting new nipples and has buggered the threads is it possible to repair this? I thought heli coil might do it? And I know what most peoples views are gonna be (bin em) but its a waste of decent brakes for sake of 1 nipple :(

I snapped one on the rear of my calibra and got a heli coil or some sort and was fine or use a stud extractor on it

The nipple is already out do u know what size the heli coil was so can get 1? Also its never moved since being fitted when bleeding etc has it?

I'm not sure it was a few years back and an enginnering place done it and it never moved. The other way is find out the size and cut one size up with a tap set to a bigger blead nipple

Helicoils are pretty useless, I definitely wouldn't trust them on high pressure brake lines. Wurth time serts are much better and will repair spark plug threads etc with ease! Find somewhere that uses them :) Could get the place I work for to do it for you, but I'd imagine the postage there and back would be about the same as the cost of the work lol

Yeah I did think this but he would rather they were all the same as he might be selling them once repaired
