when i put my foot hard to the floor my 1.4i just holds the same speed, and when i take it off a little it excelerates.

It also seems hesitant, just had it re-coned, so what could it be, any ideas?

He means that when you put your foot down fully, you're letting in too much petrol. There is not enough Air to mix the fuel and results in the "over fueling". Same thing use to happen on my girlfriends car. However, she also had a "Dead spot" when trying to accelerate quickly (not just planting it, but pushing the accelerator gradually), the car would loose power (or not gain power anyway) after about 1500rpm, then suddenly when easing off the throttle, the car would suddenly jump into life.

Try getting your car tuned.

Slim's right, 95% of the time inability to accelerate with full throttle but half throttle allows moderate acceleration is a simple fuel/air mixture problem and the car simply needs tuning again.

cheers guys.

Only problem is its getting worse, the point at which it does it seems to be getting higher.

And when i excelerate it slows like when i take my foot off the pedal, could it be the clutch?

Cheers Greg :x
